Break-In Procedure & Warranty Information
One of the most important aspects of a transmission rebuild is the break-in procedure followed once the transmission is back in the car. Don't waste your money on one of our extremely tough T56 upgrades only to reinstall and recklessly risk damage. Follow these simple break-in tips to enjoy long lasting satisfaction with your Tick Performance T56:
- GM owners, if your clutch hydraulics have never been replaced, we highly recommend that you install a new GM slave cylinder when installing your T56. Be sure that your hydraulics are working properly enough to fully disengage your clutch before driving the car! If they are not, we highly suggest upgrading to one of our Adjustable Clutch Master Cylinder Kits.
- If you aren't replacing the clutch at the time of rebuild, be sure to examine your pilot bearing before installing the transmission.
- Once installed, fill your transmission with ~4qts of Dexron®-III Mercon® ATF.
- Be easy on the transmission for 400 miles under normal traffic conditions. Do not aggressively shift your T56 during this break-in period.
Simple as that! If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Warranty Information
Included with your purchase of our Level Two and Level Three EXTREME Viper T56 rebuild package is a one-year limited warranty. Tick Performance warrants that our rebuild on your transmission is done RIGHT. We are extremely experienced with the T56 and your transmission was checked and rechecked before shipping back to you. Since our T56 Packages are designed for use in high horsepower and drag racing applications, we need to make a few things clear: our warranty covers our labor to dissassemble and reassemble your transmission. Our warranty does not include: broken or damaged parts, costs to remove transmission from your vehicle, cost to reinstall transmission into your vehicle, fluids, or shipping to and from Tick Performance.
Our warranty is null and void when used in applications exceeding 700 horsepower and/or torque (rear wheel). Faceplated and proshifted transmissions are not warranted. Level One rebuild packages are not warranted. For Cobra owners, 10 spline input shafts are not warranted.
The Bottom Line
For GM owners, improper clutch hydraulics are the leading cause of broken transmission parts. If you want a trouble-free experience with your newly rebuilt T56, make sure that your clutch hydraulics are up to the task of fully disengaging your clutch. If you have bled and re-bled your hydraulic system and you're still having an issue, call us at (704)660-5843 and we'll be happy to help you solve the problem.
